Create a video with the Microsoft 365 Copilot app
Applies To

With the Microsoft 365 Copilot app, you can have the AI create a short video for you on almost any topic you like. Once the video is created you can edit and refine it to be just what you want.
Note: For users without a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, quality and performance may vary depending on the service availability and may vary throughout the day. If the service isn't available, Copilot notifies you. It won't interrupt any task in progress. For more details, see How Copilot Chat works with and without a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.
Note: Clipchamp must be enabled for your organization in order to see and use video creation in Copilot Create.
How to create a video with the Microsoft 365 Copilot app
Prerequisites
-
Make sure Clipchamp is enabled for your organization. Only users in organizations where Clipchamp is enabled by their admin can see the Create a video option in Copilot Create.
Create a video
-
In the Microsoft 365 Copilot app, select Create from the navigation on the left side of the screen.
-
Select Create a video.
-
Give it a description of the video you'd like. Be as specific as possible for the best results.
Create a video on how to spot a phishing message. Be sure to include information about carefully examining the sender's address and a reminder never to click on unexpected links or attachments.Tip: If you'd like Copilot to create a video from an existing PowerPoint presentation select Add a PowerPoint file instead of typing a description. Note that the video generated do not inherit the sensitivity label of the sourced file.Â
-
Select Create. It usually takes less than a minute to create your video.
Edit the video
The video you get may need a bit of refinement. If the changes are relatively minor, like changing the narration voice from masculine to feminine, or choosing a different kind of background music you can select those changes from the Edit with AI panel.
After you select the changes, select Create new draft to create a new version of the video with your changes in it. Don't worry if you decide the changes aren't better, you can always go back to any prior version of your video.
If your video needs bigger changes Clipchamp, our online video editor, is ready to help. Select Edit with Clipchamp from the top of the screen.
Save your video
If you're happy with your video and ready to save it, select Edit with Clipchamp from the top of the screen and when the video opens in Clipchamp select the Export button to save it in a common format such as .MP4.
